Serve The City

First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church has historically been a significant contributor to the fabric of the city of Savannah and the metropolitan area, serving as a hub for nurturing the community well-being and acting as the social glue for otherwise disparate individuals living in proximity to one another. We have several ministries that encompasses our mission to truly serve God's people.

Grubbs-Anderson Mission Ministry

The Mission team leads the church in dynamic Matthew 25 ministry.  The ministry delivers hot meals to seniors and veterans, maintains our clothing closets and food bank, and leads our annual Turkey and Toys giveaway.

Fresh Power

Our Fresh Power team is a dynamic weekly feeding ministry for seniors and people experiencing homelessness.  Each Wednesday at 12Noon, we host a powerful Bible Study and distribute free meals to persons in need.

Expungement Clinic

In partnership with Devetter Law and DEEP Center, First Tabernacle and its community partners offer a free expungement clinic for persons needing record restrictions.  A permanent record can limit one’s ability to provide basic and immediate needs.  Expungement helps to remove barriers to successful reentry for justice impacted citizens.

Back to School

Each year, in partnership with businesses and non-profits, First Tabernacle hosts a community Back to School concert and marketplace.  The goal is to provide a safe space for students to enjoy the close of the summer as they prepare to return to school.  In addition to covering students in prayer, 1,000 bookbags with supplies are given to area students in need.
